Stravinsk is a Russian-born composer who was a leader in the modernist movement in music at the beginning of the 20th century. He has work had a revolutionary impact on musical thought and sensibility. His music continues to inspire young composers and influenced many other composers, including Aaron Copland, Pierre Boulez, and Béla Bartók. The rite of spring is considered one of the first examples of modernism in music.
